The Edward Elgar Riverboat Hotel

English Holiday Cruises built the Edward Elgar as a substantial Riverboat Hotel to provide waterways holidays and river tours along the navigable River Severn. She carries 22 holiday passengers and the atmosphere aboard is informal and friendly. This canal barge is big and easy to negotiate, the cabins are cosy and comfortable, the food and beverage service is excellent and we stage live entertainment and games. The Captain and Crew offer attentive and friendly service. Visit Britain have awarded us a 4-star Hotelboat rating and the Environmental Health Department has awarded us a 5-star rating for food hygiene.

Convenient Vessel Layout

The Edward Elgar boat has three decks. The lower deck carries the passenger cabins served by two easy-rising staircases. The main deck offers comfortable restaurant seating, a cosy lounge and our licensed cash bar. The open top deck has seating, with a commanding view of the countryside.

Comfortable Passenger Cabins

Our 11 passenger cabins are all cosy outside twin cabins.

• Each cabin has a window, twin beds with soft pillows and an en-suite shower, washbasin and WC.
• English Holiday Cruises supply a variety of cabin amenities to make your stay more comfortable
• There is air-conditioning/heating along with an independent supply of fresh air.

We provide a high standard of food and beverage to make the most of your holiday.

• We serve delicious English food with a good menu selection, including special dietary needs.
• The cash bar stocks a wide variety of soft drinks, beers, wines and spirits at regular pub prices.
• There is an endless supply of FREE tea, coffee and chilled water throughout the day.

Live Entertainment and Games

We provide live music entertainment after dinner on at least one occasion during your holiday. You also get the chance to enjoy some fun deck games in the daytime and table quizzes in the evenings.

Attentive Captain and Crew

Our Captain and crew make attentive service and passenger safety their highest priorities. Besides keeping the vessel safe for all aboard and providing mealtime and cabin services, they also:

• Porter your baggage to and from your cabins and direct you to the nearby car park
• Tell you all about the sights along the way and ‘shepherd’ you onto our guided tours
• Supply newspapers on many days and information leaflets for the local sights.
• Help you to celebrate any special occasion on board – provided you warn us of them!
